When you look at the stats, its no wonder why Plant High School's James Wilder Jr is a five star recruit, who will soon be a Florida State Seminole. And as exciting as that is for the Seminole Nation..There is more to James than just numbers.
"I think the thing people miss out with James when you just see the highlight videos and the games is what a great teammate he is first and foremost. Hes a young man who has been around the game for a long time for a kid his age and he really understands what the code of the game is, and he really understands how to be there for his teammates." adds Plant Head Football Coach, Robert Weiner.
For a guy who is always smiling and always positive, Coach Weiner says Wilder's work ethic is what sets him apart.
"A lot of times you get very, very good athletes who are great players and think they're where they need to be, but James never thinks that. He always wants to find another level, he always wants to find out how he can be better than yesterday."
James gave 110% everyday on the field as a part of the Panther football team. and now when he suits up in a Seminole uniform, expect none of that to change."
"One of the things James took pride in is that, you know, he wasn't, it wasn't James Wilder and then a bunch of other recruits. Florida State had an amazing recruiting year, and James always sees himself as a part of the whole, and he's proud to be a part of that, and I think everyone in Florida Stateland should be excited for not only the way the program is headed, but the new class coming in to help infuse that energy.
