"Well yesterday when he told me I was off the team I ended up crying for three hours," those words are from Greg Reid, the now former FSU corner-back who was dismissed from the football team Wednesday morning.

He spoke to WCTV Eyewitness News via Skype from a friend's house in Atlanta. He told us how he was overcome with emotion when he found out from Head Coach Jimbo Fisher that he would no longer play the sport he loves as a Seminole.

"I just talked to him, me and Coach Fisher have a strong relationship and I asked him if there was anything I could do, I'm in tears at this point, I'm balling, I never cry like that, but I was balling and I was just asking him if there was anything I could do and he said 'I don't know, I don't think so'," said Reid.

Reid's manager says Reid was kicked off the team after three strikes. He first failed a drug test two years ago. Then he was arrested last September when he was accused of lying to police about his scooter. Most recently, he was arrested in Georgia. He's charged with driving with a suspended license and possession of marijuana.

He described this latest arrest as an event that changed his life forever.

"I just had to learn my lesson, I was praying for something like this, not this big, to happen, but something to open my eyes," said Reid.

Now he's trying to learn from that lesson and live for the future. As for his football future, he knows he wants to finish school, but right now, he says he can't imagine playing for anyone but FSU.

"I can't even picture myself putting on another jersey, putting on some other cleats, I don't even picture myself running out another stadium besides Doak Campbell right now," said Reid.

His next court date is September 5th.

The news has hit the FSU campus hard. Greg Reid has been dismissed from the football team.

In Eyewitness News' exclusive Skype interview with Greg Reid, he says, "I'm a little heartbroken, I guess. I wouldn't know no other way to put it, really."

Dalton Bisher is touring the school he's dreamed about attending since he was ten years old. The rising high school senior from Pennsylvania is disappointed to hear that he won't get to watch Greg Reid play football at FSU anymore.

Bisher says, "He works in the community really well. I know that. He really helps out. So, it will really hurt everybody, not just the football team, but everyone in the Florida area."

Reid's manager says that three incidents led to the dismissal: his failed drug test two years ago; Reid's arrest last September--when he was accused of lying to police who were trying to figure out who was riding his scooter; and his arrest in Georgia for a suspended license and possession of marijuana. The charges were dropped in the scooter incident.

FSU student William Brown says, "It seems like FSU players have been getting in so much trouble lately. I guess it was inevitable. He went through all of that, I mean, what else can you do?"

Reid says, "I tried to do the best thing I could for this program. Trouble just always find me. I kind of have to deal with it my way. I just really want to apologize and tell my fans I'm really sorry."

FSU student Bryan Lewis says, "I think that this is preposterous that Greg Reid got kicked off or dismissed. He did violate his team--and he deserves some consequences-- but it's just a lot; and we really need him this year."

Reid says, "It's not the end of my journey for this year. Just by playing with those boys for three years, I know Florida State has a strong program. It's going to come around sooner or later."

Florida State Head Football Coach Jimbo Fisher announced Wednesday that Greg Reid has been dismissed from the FSU football team for a violation of team rules.

Reid's manager, Jon Fistel, tells WCTV that he received the news about Reid's dismissal yesterday and that the FSU athletic director told Reid that he would be dismissed from the team. Fistel said it wasn't a specific incident, but Reid's reputation that had him dismissed from the football team. Fistel said it was three instances that let up to this point: a failed drug test, an arrest in September 2011 related to a scooter theft (those charges were later dropped), and his latest arrest in Georgia on the evening of July 10th.

The FSU star cornerback was arrested by the Georgia State Patrol on the evening of July 10th. Reid was charged with driving with a suspended license and possession of marijuana and was taken to the Lowndes County Jail.
