Tallahassee, FL - Florida State stars Ngoni Makusha and Kim Williams have both been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Performers of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Makusha claimed the honor outright for the men and Williams shares her recognition with Virginia’s Stephanie Garcia.

Makusha took top honors among a field of 13 in the long jump Friday at the Texas Relays. The senior from Zimbabwe recorded a leap of 27-6.75, setting the longest all-conditions jump in the entire world this year. He also bested his own conference record set at the 2008 NCAA Championships by four inches.

Williams claimed the top podium spot in the triple jump Saturday at the Texas Relays. The senior from Kingston, Jamaica, set a new Texas Relays record with a wind-legal jump of 46-1.25, then followed that with a wind-aided winning jump of 46-9.00. Her victorious mark bested the conference record set in 2006 by three inches and also currently leads the nation.

"We are so fortunate to have two world-class jumpers like Ngoni and Kim,” FSU head coach Bob Braman said. “They are statistically the greatest in ACC history."

Makusha’s honor marks the second week in a row in which an FSU men’s athlete has captured performer of the weeks honors. Maurice Mitchell sprinted to the honor last week after achieving the world’s fastest 200m dash at the Florida Relays.

Next up for the Seminoles is the Auburn War Eagle Invite.
