ATLANTA – The No. 19/21-ranked Florida State women’s basketball team hits the road to face Georgia Tech on Thursday at 7 p.m. and No. 8 Maryland at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Thursday’s contest will stream live on ESPN3.com, while Sunday’s game will be broadcast on ESPNU.
The Seminoles (11-1) opened ACC play last Sunday with a 76-70 victory over Boston College in Tallahassee. Senior guard Alexa Deluzio led the Seminoles with her first career double-double (25 points and 12 rebounds) and was named ACC Player of the Week following her effort.
Last season, FSU lost to the Yellow Jackets, 79-55, and fell to the Terrapins, 91-70, but the Seminoles are a much different team this year.
Florida State ranks second in the country in three-point percentage (.438), third in field goal percentage (.496) and fourth in scoring (83.6).
Led by Deluzio (15.9 ppg), the Noles are the only team in the nation with five players averaging double figures in scoring.
Georgia Tech brings a 7-5 overall record into the contest and has won four straight games. The Yellow Jackets are led by guards Tyaunna Marshall (16.6 ppg) and Dawn Maye (14.1). FSU is 20-19 all-time against GT and 14-10 under head coach Sue Semrau.
Maryland holds a 24-14 edge in the all-time series with the Seminoles. This season, the Terps are 10-2 despite battling some injuries. Forward Tianna Hawkins is averaging 18.8 ppg and 9.8 rpg, while reigning ACC Player of the Year Alyssa Thomas is averaging 14.8 ppg and 9.3 rpg.
