TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- Christian Ponder threw for 221 yards
and three touchdowns Saturday to lead No. 22 Florida State to a
31-7 win over Florida that snapped a six-game losing streak in the
series by the Seminoles.
Ponder connected with Rodney Smith, Taiwan Easterling and Willie
Haulstead on scoring plays covering 39, 15 and 29 yards
respectively in his final home game.
The Seminoles (9-3, 6-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) put the game
away with a 21-point second quarter, getting three touchdowns in
just over nine minutes to take a 24-7 halftime lead.
Florida (7-5, 4-4 Southeastern Conference) was hurt by four
turnovers and didn't score after their opening drive that was set
up by Andre Debose's 62-yard kickoff return. The touchdown came on
a 21-yard pass from John Brantley to Robert Clark.
