It wasn't a easy loss to swallow. Thursday night's loss to NC State had many Seminole fans wondering, what happened?
"We run the play a thousand times in practice and its never been that way before, and its just one of those things, its a mishap and you can go back and replay it a hundred times and it would never happen like that again, but its just crazy how it happened." says Quarterback Christian Ponder.
Coach Jimbo Fisher adds, "The ball wasn't extended, ball was in tight to the body and just got deflected out, and that's just what happens, its unfortunate how it happened, but we didn't execute the play. "
On top of the last minute fumble, there were other aspects of the same that hurt them.
"A complete lack of focus on everyone's part and presnap penalties, we had five the whole game which is uncharacteristic of us." says Ponder.
"The kids kept competing in the game, it wasn't a lack of want to, it was a lack of execution." says Fisher.
They've had a few days to get over the loss, focus on the positives and move forward.
"Ultimately its football, its a game, and obviously its a tough loss, a heart breaking loss but its important to move on "
Move on to this week's homecoming game against North Carolina.
