Last week's opponent is nothing compared to what the Seminoles face Saturday.
The Garnet and Gold is in full swing, and hundreds of FSU alum are in town to cheer on their Alma Mater. But even with all the excitement that surrounds Homecoming, the Noles remain focused on their goal.
"You want to win, Homecoming is important every year, but for us it's kind of the same. Same preparation. We don't want to treat this game any different than any other."
Homecoming hasn't proved easy for the Noles on the football field- its been a back and forth battle- with a win in 07 against Duke, a loss in 08 to Boston College and then a win in 09 against NC State. this year, in hopes of breaking that pattern, Jimbo Fisher is relying on the Seminoles strengths.
"We're better on third down, better in the red zone, better at points, and those type of things. Defense has improved greatly. I think our special teams are doing a great job."
And while Coach Fisher can hope his team's execution on Saturday is on point, Christian Ponder and the rest of the team knows getting this win isn't going to be easy.
"I'm expecting the same defense they had last year that I face and it's going to be tough. They're one of the better defenses in the nation."
They just hope that last weeks ACC loss doesn't turn into two.
