The Tallahassee Automobile Museum was packed with Seminole fans ready to celebrate the first victory of 2011.
Gene Gene Deckerhoff, the Voice of the Seminoles says, "This is truly a great recruiting class and i cant wait.. I cannot wait to say TOUCHDOWN JAMES WILDER!"
"We've been boosters for years and this is the most excited I've seen a lot of people." says Daniel Petty
FSU fan Tom Block says, "Number one class in the country- very excited for coach fisher and his staff. A lot of work on their part."
Head coach Jimbo Fisher says landing the number one recruiting class didn't happen overnight... and it's not a four year decision- it's a 40 year decision "These high school kids started recruiting each other- they want to play with other great players." says Fisher.
According the Fisher- talent wins a game but character wins a championship. "There's a lot of kids in this class I think that are very good people and they represent themselves well and they carry themselves well and also good students."
"We celebrate the class- but they still have to go play football." says Block.
It wasn't only Fisher and the coaching staff who put a lot of man hours into building relationships with the new class.. Jimbo gave a lot of credit to the current players who showed recruits all year what it means to be a Seminole.
"The would get around our players and within five minutes they would know if our coaches were genuine or not." says Fisher.
Jimbo Fisher did say during his press conference Wednesday afternoon this is the first time he can remember they did not sign anyone from the Tallahassee area.
As excited as everyone was, Coach Fisher wanted to remind everyone that while it is exciting that they reeled in the number one class on paper, they still need to go out and win football games.
