TULSA, Okla. – The Seminoles have advanced to the third round of both the singles and doubles qualifying rounds of the ITA All-American Championships after the fourth day of competition. No. 100 Benjamin Lock takes on the singles draw while Anderson Reed and Dominic Cotrone compete in doubles.

“I am really proud of Benjamin,” said head coach Dwayne Hultquist. “It was a great come from behind win. His opponent came out to win early with the first set, but Benjamin broke the third set at 4-all and won it. I was proud of Dominic and Anderson who were also down, but really fought through the adversity to get the win.”

In singles play, the Seminoles went 1-1 in the second round on Tuesday. Lock, a sophomore, defeated Nikita Fomin of George Washington 2-6, 6-2, 6-4 and takes on VCU’s No. 80 Max Wennakoski Wednesday at 9:30 a.m CT. Sophomore Dominic Cotrone fell to No. 92 Ben Davis of Middle Tennessee 6-4, 6-3.

In doubles play, senior Anderson Reed and Cotrone produced an 8-5 win over Sebastian Florczyk and Marc Herman of Nebraska in the second round. The duo will take on Connor Glennon and David O’Hare of Memphis at 2:30 p.m. CT.

Senior Jordan Kelly-Houston and freshman Michael Rinaldi lost 8-3 to Tennessee’s Brandon Fickey and Edward Jones in the second round while sophomore Cristian Gonzalez Mendez and redshirt-freshman João Gauer fell to Arturs Kazijev and Mischa Nowicki of SMU 8-5. In the first round, senior Andres Bucaro and sophomore Benjamin Lock lost 8-3 to UNC’s Esben Hess-Olesen and Nelson Vick.

Singles quarterfinalists, doubles finalists and consolation champions will receive an automatic entry into the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships in November.
