Surgery for Marlins SS Hanley Ramirez

MIAMI (AP) _ Florida Marlins shortstop Hanley Ramirez had
arthroscopic surgery Wednesay to repair his injured left shoulder.
Marlins spokesman Matt Roebuck says Ramirez had the surgery to
repair torn labrum tissue.
Ramirez is expected to be ready for spring training.
Ramirez dislocated his shoulder while swinging at a pitch during
a July 22 game against Cincinnati. Although he missed several games
following the injury, he said at the time he would wait until the
end of the season to have surgery.
Ramirez is the 2006 National League Rookie of the Year. He
finished the season with a .332 batting average, 212 hits and 29
home runs.
