The Valdosta State Blazers were defeated at home Thursday night by the Delta State Statesmen. It wasn't that they loss to a top ten team, that has the Blazer faithful upset, it was more about the manner of how they did so.
They led 17 nill at the half, and at one point led 24 nothing, and that's when the roof caved in.
They allowed 28 unanswered points, and now find themselves in a new situation. This is the first time of his head coaching career that David Dean and the boys must cope with a loss.
Senior Tight End Zach Parker explained the mood, "Just very disappointed. I feel like we have a really, really good football team and it's my senior season and we worked so hard over the summer time. We come out here and the loss really hurts."
"I just told them we got to stay together the loss is tough. There's a lot of football left. We can still win the conference, we can still go to the playoffs," adds Coach Dean.
