Another week, and another wrinkle in the Seminole quarterback situation with Xavier Lee's two week suspension. Now the question on everyone's mind is what does this mean for the 'Noles.
FSU Head Football Coach Bobby Bowden says:
"Drew Weatherford is our starting quarterback. We'll work D'Vontrey and we'll work Ponder in there and we'll just go from there."
Many fans are split as to who gives Florida State the best chance to win. On paper Lee and Weatherford are very similar except for one glaring statistic. Xavier's five interceptions to Drew's one. Although, Lee's ability to run the ball makes him a more dynamic player as evident in his three rushing touchdowns compared to Weatherford who has none. What the suspension really does is limit the 'Noles options under center. Now if Weatherford goes down, there are no other Q.B.'s on the roster that have thrown a pass. this season. However the team is confident that there's enough talent and depth at quarterback to win games.
FSU Middle Linebacker Geno Hayes says:
"We have players capable of taking spots and keeping the game. Capable of winning the game for us."
No matter who takes the snaps, the 'Noles will have to play at a higher level then they have all season as they enter the toughest stretch of the schedule.
