Florida State had only managed to beat the nation's #2 ranked team once but they managed to double that output with a stirring 10-point win on a stormy night in Boston.
In what was supposed to be a showcase game for Matt Ryan and his Heisman hopes, it was actually Drew Weatherford who shined brightest on this day as he threw for 2 touchdowns as Florida State scores a 27-17 upset of Boston College.
FSU Linebacker Dekoda Watson says, "It's a big win, especially for Florida State in this position that we've been in lately but like I said, I don't think we should have had an opportunity to play which BC which it was but I am just glad we won and we'll try to continue this... keep on going out like we are now."
Quarterback Drew Weatherford threw for 354 yards in the game with 2 TDs and no interceptions and he says, "It means a lot. Our program obviously has a lot of history and really it makes us a lot more confident , but we can't ride this emotional high too long because we have a huge game next weekend and we got to come back and do it again."
Running back Antone Smith gained 146 yards both rushing and receiving and says, "It will help us a lot. We got something to look forward to and we played great team tonight and we drove down the field and threw well and put points on the board. I mean we didn't put the points on the board we wanted to because we haven't been finishing in the red zone, gotta do better with that, but we got Virginia Tech, Maryland and Florida coming up. It's a big push for us to go out there and also playing those hoping to get another big win."
Linebacker Geno Hayes intercepted a Matt Ryan pass late in the 4th quarter and returned it 35 yards for a game clinching touchdown and he says, "It just shows that Florida State is back on the rise and we're going to focus on Virginia Tech and we have 3 more games left and all of the are good, but we're going to focus on the games and go out and do our best."
With the win, Florida State now becomes bowl eligible at 6-3.
