Lowndes High Is Back to Where they Need to Be

By  |

What an odd year it was last year with the Lowndes Vikings done at this point in the season, well it must have been an anomaly, because they are right back in the mix this season.

Lowndes High was crowned State Champs in '04 and '05.

Last season the Vikes did not even get to defend their title, missing the playoffs for the first time since '94.

Now the Vikings look to pillage their way back to the top of Georgia football. It all starts Friday night at home against Windsor Forest. We'll have it covered in the Friday Night Blitz.

"We got more experience. We lost a big class in '06, twenty something seniors. This year we got a lot of seniors stepping up. A lot of leadership this year we didn't have last year," says VHS Linebacker Tavaris Williams.

"We're going to stick with what we do. Play good defense, run the ball first and try to execute," adds head coach Randy McPherson.
