Among the many good games tonight, an undefeated, a defending champ, and then the perennial powerhouse Lincoln Trojans, fresh off a win over arch-rival Godby, they are ready for some playoff action.
"We played three and a half quarters of shut out football last week against a real god football team, scored a bunch of points, so we've been getting better each week, and hopefully, we'll continue to get better each week," says Trojans head coach Kyle Rice.
Then there's the Baby Rattlers, last year's state champs. They have fought through a trying regular season and now sit ready to rattle and roll.
"We're at where we're supposed to be, and they feel that way... they worked all summer for this first game, and going into the playoffs, they're not taking anyone for granted," comments FAMU High Head Coach Ira Reynolds.
Of all the glory of being an undefeated team, Florida High School is most excited about playing at home. It's a big advantage against a talented foe.
"We play Northview out of Pensacola... we're happy to be at home this year... we just want to come out and play well like we did, and kind of keep the momentum going from what we had in the regular season," says Florida High head football coach Jarrod Hickman.
Three of the many talented teams still fighting for the ultimate goal, a state title. How much closer will they get tonight? We'll tell you in the Friday Night Blitz.
