Rattlers Have Rough Time in the Kohl Center

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Marcus Landry and Jason Bohannon scored 17 points each as Wisconsin routed Florida A&M 88-40 on the second day of the America's Youth Classic tournament Friday night.

It was a career high for Bohannon, who was 5-for-8 from 3-point range. Landry shot 7-for-9 from the floor, missing his career high by two points.

Trevon Hughes, who led the Badgers in scoring in each of their first two games, added 15 for Wisconsin (3-0).

Wisconsin's Brian Butch missed out on his third straight double-double of the season and shot only 4-for-13 from the floor, but scored 11 and had seven rebounds.

Larry Jackson scored eight points to lead Florida A&M (1-2). The Rattlers shot a miserable 30 percent from the floor and were outrebounded 48-21.

It was the 25th straight home victory for the Badgers, who came into the game tied for the fifth-longest home winning streak in the country. It was the 200th career game at Wisconsin for head coach Bo Ryan, who is 145-55 in seven seasons with the Badgers.

Wisconsin faces Colorado on Saturday, the final day of the three-day tournament. The Buffaloes beat Savannah State 58-43 earlier Friday.

The Badgers defense held the Rattlers scoreless over the final 6:20 of the first half, and Florida A&M didn't score again until nearly two minutes into the second half.

Wisconsin ended the first half on a 12-0 run, taking a 39-14 lead into halftime.

Landry made a layup and hit a foul shot for a three-point play, followed by a Bohannon 3-pointer to put the Badgers ahead 33-14 with 3:59 left in the half.

Butch was fouled and hit one of two free throws, but Joe Krabbenhoft rebounded the miss and Bohannon hit another 3-pointer to put Wisconsin ahead 37-14.

Michael Flowers then made a layup off an alley-oop pass from Bohannon with 1:11 remaining.

Wisconsin opened the second half with jumpers by Landry and Stiemsma before Florida A&M's Ernest Maul finally scored at the 18:04 mark to make the score 43-16 Wisconsin.

Crowd favorite Tanner Bronson hit two late 3-pointers for the Badgers for a career-high six points.
