It's always fun when my fantasy and reality football worlds meet and that's exactly what happened this weekend. After Priest Holmes retired, I grabbed Kolby Smith to start against the Raiders.
The same Raiders club that a week earlier was scorched for over 160-rushing yards and 3 touchdowns by little known Chester Taylor who was filling in for Adrian Peterson.
So Kolby Smith appeared to be a great start, but it gets better. You see this Chief who was facing the Raiders used to play for the Rickards Raiders a few years ago.
As for the results, how about 31 rushes, 150 yards and 2 touchdowns. Not bad for fantasy and reality. His head coach agrees.
"He did a fantastic job for the first time starting... the thing about him was we didn't want to wear him out. He got a little fatigued carrying the football... playing against a pretty good defense, he ran the ball very well," says Chiefs head coach Herm Edwards.
