SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) _ North Florida shot just 16.7 percent from
the field, and Savannah State took advantage in a 58-32 victory
The Ospreys (1-5) shot 7-for-42, including 2-for-12 from 3-point
range, against the Tigers (5-4), who managed only 37.9 shooting
Lazarius Coleman and Curtis Brown each had 10 points to lead
Savannah State, while James Grimball had 14 points and eight
rebounds for North Florida, and Tom Hammonds added 10 points.
The Tigers went on a 23-0 run early in the first half,
stretching a 2-5 deficit into a 25-5 lead with 9:27 to play.
Coleman started the run with a jumper and also had a dunk during
the stretch that also featured five points by Joseph Flegler and
seven from Anthony Jones, who each finished with 9.
Savannah State led 35-16 at the break and never led by fewer
than 18 in the second half.
