Syrupmakers Enjoy Sweet Taste of Success

By  |

On my mind these days, the Cairo Syrupmakers. This is a team that lost a top-flight recruit to Florida State last year in Cameron Wade, yet here they are still alive in the South Georgia Playoffs.

Last weekend they took care of Shaw High School, no relation, but it was a bit dicey. There was an ejection, must have been my crazy Uncle Jordie, and the Syrupmakers lost a 14-0 4th quarter lead... but tied at 14, they scored when it mattered most, and now face Carver from Atlanta.

"We came off a big win last weekend, we're back on schedule, well, I mean you get to this point, you know everything is going to be easy, and that's what you expect in the State of Georgia Playoffs," says Head Football Coach Tom Fallaw.
