The FAMU Baby Rattlers are the defending champs in 1B and they will get the chance to make it two in a row after defeating Trinity Christian 38-6 at Bragg Memorial Stadium on Friday night.
The Baby Rattlers struck first in the second quarter when Richard Watson busted loose for a 20-yard touchdown run to put FAMU up 6-0.
Then Coach Ira Reynolds opened the playbook by allowing quarterback Ravon Johnson to air it out and did he ever as he hit Jerrod McGee for a 50 yard pass play and then 2 plays later, the two combined for a 35-yard TD to put the Baby Rattlers up 12-0.
Another 45-yard pass play between Johnson and McGee set up a short Johnson TD pass to Willie Ferrell for an 18-0 halftime lead.
So the Baby Rattlers will now try to defend their state title next Friday at 1 PM in Orlando's Citrus Bowl.
