A special season to say the least with 3 sunshine state teams entering the state finals this weekend, with a couple of Georgia teams competing in the Semifinals. Their reward, a trip tot he Georgia Dome.
"Everybody is excited, practice is going well, we're looking forward to getting up there to the Dome," says Lowndes High head coach Randy McPherson.
In Orlando, the State Finals soon kick off. Madison High takes on Tampa Catholic.
"They've got a great team... they've been real physical and tough," says Madison County's head coach Frankie Carroll.
"We're working really hard in practice to get what they stole from us, we're going to come out victorious," says junior defensive lineman Jacobi McDaniel.
Then there's NFC, hoping to improve on their second straight finals appearance. This time around, they are the underdogs.
"We've had the bullseye all year, I think this is the first game that we're the underdogs... We've got 6 here at NFC, we're trying to get number 6," comments NFC head coach Casey Weldon.
There's FAMU High looking for a repeat Championship, and Thomas County Central looking to maintain a perfect season. Cairo High hopes for their own state finals appearance. Win or lose, to come this far, it's a season to remember.
