Florida A&M’s strong safety Ernest Williams has been selected to play in the American Heritage Bowl at Cal State Fullerton Titan Field on January 26 at 6:15 p.m. Pacific Time in Fullerton, Calif.
The American Heritage Bowl a Historically Black College and Universities All Star Football Game presented by the Fight On! Foundation.
The Fight On! Foundation was created to pursue a collective goal of using sports and recreation as a vehicle to enhance and foster spiritual, physical, emotional and education and development.
Williams, a 5-10 defensive back from Tallahassee, finished last season with 58 tackles (30 solos, 28 Asst), three and one-half tackles for a loss of seven yards, one forced fumble, two fumble returns, and one interception return for 19 yards.
Last season Williams, recorded a season high 11 tackles against Morgan State (10-27-07) and had 10 tackles against Norfolk State (10-18-07), North Carolina A&T (11-3-07) and Bethune-Cookman (11-17-07).
Williams finished his career at FAMU with 171 career tackles, 11.0 tackles for a loss of 39 yards, seven pass breakups, one forced fumbles and three fumble returns.
