The 2008 PGA Tour began a few weeks ago, but for many golf fans, it might as well start today with the Buick Open. With more corporate sponsors than ever before, there are tons of events these days, and they do not all attract the likes of Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, and some of the other great players in the game today.
That was the case for the first three tournament of the season including the Mercedes Benz classic, Sony Open, and Hope Classic.
While the lesser known players were trying to make a name for themselves, Tiger Woods finally got a chance to rest.
"I've never really had that much time off. It was nice...Overall, just kind of shut down," says Tiger Woods, who currently sits in second place at the Buick Open.
