In action on Saturday are the Valdosta State Lady Blazers basketball team. After a 15-1 start including a win in their conference opener, the Lady Blazers embarked on a road trip to forget.
They lost two games on the road, and have fallen to a 13th ranking in the nation. So while the nationally ranked Blazers are 1-2 in the G-S-C, their opponent this weekend, the West Alabama Tigers, come in at 2-1 in the conference, despite an overall record of just 6 and 11.
The Lady Blazers hope to even up their conference mark with a 6PM home tip off.
"I don't think this is a must-win situation. I think right now, it's for us to get better as a basketball team and play our best and improve as a whole as we're progressing into late January and early February because as we get better, we're going to be a hard team to beat," says Lady Blazers head coach Kiley Hill.
