ATLANTA (AP) _ Atlanta's new WNBA team picked its first 13
players in the league's expansion draft Wednesday.
Atlanta's team, named the Dream, selected from a pool of
available players from the other 13 teams in the league.
Atlanta traded the 18th draft pick and forward LaToya Thomas,
selected from the Los Angeles roster, to Detroit in exchange for
second-year guard Ivory Latta, the former North Carolina star.
The Dream traded the fourth overall pick in the 2008 WNBA draft
and guard Roneeka Hodges, selected from Houston's roster, to
Seattle in exchange for the eighth pick in the draft and veteran
guard Iziane Castro Marques.
Atlanta's expansion draft pick with the most WNBA experience is
guard Betty Lennox, an eight-year veteran taken from Seattle's
Atlanta did not draft any players from Georgia or Georgia Tech.
