Nascar Rookies Have Plenty of Experience

By  |

With Elton Gumbel and Phil Jean on their last lap to Daytona, it's time to start the hype for the 50th annual Daytona 500. To celebrate a very special season, Nascar brings a very intriguing rookie class to the asphalt, as if Dale Earnhardt Jr. switching teams wasn't enough, we now have a bunch of proven winners competing for the Sprint Cup.

Last year we had Juan Pablo Montoya, and this year a couple more Indy 500 winners will give Nascar their best shot.

2007 Indy 500 Winner Dario Franchitti says, "Oh, I'm a rookie, I'm definitely a Sprint Cup rookie... You look at these guys here and what they've achieved, we're all still rookies... what we've done in the past is great, but for me, personally, I'm starting at zero at a new learning experience."
