To the high school scene, where Winnersville, Georgia has lived up to its name, now when it comes to hoops as well.
We start with the Wildcats, who appeared to have gone cold at the wrong time, a week ago. They lost 3 straight region games before picking up their play against Tift County. They next play Beach County in the playoffs tomorrow.
Their rivals at Lowndes handed them one of those 3 straight losses, but they lost to Tift County, and now hope to rebound against Johnson from Savannah.
Lowndes High senior guard Brain Ponder comments, "It's real good. It's a brand new feeling. It's a brand new season. Everybody is back at zero basically. I mean, last year was tough for us, but we bounced back this year by making the playoffs and that's all that matters."
Rufus McDuffie, the Valdosta High coach says, "You know, as a coach, you always want your team to play better, so we're just trying to play better each and every day we're trying to get better. We just trying to be focused for the state playoffs and get focused for the regional tournament."
