The Tallahassee Roller Girls,.. A.K.A.,... Capitol Punishment are firing on all cylinders these days... Since the teams crushing defeat to Tampa at the end of last season, the ladies have rattled off three straight wins.
Team Coach Kelly Ruggles says, "Our team has come a really long way. We had a lot of girls not being able to skate at all."
Team Member Shannon Young says, "Number 2 in the state isn't bad. Like Fab said, we're looking towards Tampa, but I think we're doing really well."
Undefeated,... number two in the state,.. but the question on the minds of Roller Derby fans..... Can they beat Tampa?
Moxie Knockout AKA Maggie Jones explains, "I feel yes, but I don't want to get cocky about anything. You got to make sure you keep your head in check. I'll say I think we have a good chance."
But for now, the ladies have their sights set squarely on their May 18th match up against Jacksonville.
Maggie adds, They're a tough team. They're scrappers. We like it when a team gives it their all. We play up to the levels of the teams we play. If they're gonna scrap, we'll be right out there with them.
The ladies skate back into Tallahassee June 14th for the second leg of their series with the Jacksonville First Coast Fatales.
