Super 6: Willie Ferrell

The Annual Super 6 list this year has so much talent that we had to flip it from 6 to 9 Superstar high school football players that are practically guaranteed locks to play Division 1 football. Each night, a different Super 6-er will be unveiled in random order.

Elton Gumbel bestows the first honor with the FAMU High Rattlers' Willie Ferrell.

6-foot-1, 220 pounds and 4-star skills... Those are the football dimensions for FAMu High linebacker Wilie Ferrell. Right now, he's ranked as the 19th best Linebacker in the Nation for the Class of 2009. This Fall he's on course to tackle a school record.

"I've been on varsity since the 7th grade." Says FAMU High Linebacker Willie Ferrell.

"He's been a starter for us since 7th grade... So he'll be a 6-year starter and it'll be a school record with that." Says FAMU High Head Coach Ira Reynolds.

6 years in the game will give him enough battlescars to play at that next level... A level which has a National Championship ring to it... Despite Ferrell's solid verbal commit to the LSU Tigers, he's still focused on life in the Orange & Green and making a return trip to the State Championship.

Ferrell says
" Defense can beat anybody... I'm gonna get it done and try to win some games."

Reynolds says
"I'm gonna be sad when he leaves after next season but we are gonna enjoy him while he's here... Perfection and an engine that never quits attitude is there... He's a coach on the field."

Ferrell says
"I'm determined to do anything to help this team... I can be a playmaker just by doing my job."

Combined with last year's Richard Watson, Willie Ferrell has given FAMu back-to-back Super 6s... Of course you know he'd rather lead the Rattlers to a 2nd State Title in the last 3 years.
