“I'll be anxious for the next couple of days to go by so we can play some baseball on Friday."

Opening day, it never gets old for Florida State baseball and this year is no different. What has changed is the team. Last season there were questions all over the field; this year only a few replacements like freshman Buster Posey at short, Dennis Guinn at first, and Mark Gildea in left of course those last two spots are still up for grabs.

Mike Martin says, "We've got to keep guys on their toes,. I don't want Dennis Guinn fro anytime to feel comfortable at first base and I want Ryan McArdle if he can get the job done, he'll get his opportunity down there the same holds true in the outfield."

The strength of this Florida State team is pitching, and that starts at the top with opening day starter and last year’s number one Bryan Henry.

Bryan Henry says, "I mean I can't wait, it's something I've been looking forward to since being a little kid come to all the opening days. I'm just pumped and ready to go."

Last year's Seminole squad needed name tags, this year's team is full of experience which means one things, expectations are the College World Series or bust, and it all starts Friday with Charleston Southern and one of the best traditions in sports, baseball opening day.
