The Cal Ripken All-Stars baseball League definitely have some talent in North Florida... Myers Park and Capital Park hosted North Florida State Tournament games for both the 12-&-Under Division and the 11-&-Under Division.
The tournament has been double elimination format since Thursday morning and concludes Sunday.
The Tallahassee Capitals will battle Normandy (Jacksonville) for the 12-&-Under North Florida Championship. That game is slated for 10AM at Myers Park. Since the Capitals are (3-0) in the tournament, which includes a 10-0 victory over the Normandy Invaders on Saturday, the Capitals must be defeated twice on Sunday in order to be eliminated from play. The winner advances to Palm Beach Gardens to battle for the Cal Ripken All-Stars Regional Title.
In the 11-&-Under Division over at Capital Park, the undefeated Winthrop Park team has earned a spot in Sunday's Championship game. That game is slated for 1pm. The early game (10:30am) will feature Jacksonville-Northside and the winner of Ponta Vedra vs Capital Park, for the right to play Winthrop in the Championship game.
