TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State men's tennis team will get its first action of the spring season at the Saddlebrook invitational in Tampa, Fla. from January 9-11. The Seminoles will send three players to the tournament led by junior Vahid Mirzadeh who will get his first chance to don the Garnet and Gold.

"We're looking forward to getting some match play against some good teams," FSU head coach Dwayne Hultquist said. "We're really excited to have Vahid ready to go and get him some college match experience."

Mirzadeh joins FSU after sitting out the fall season. The Wellington, Fla., native is a former junior doubles National Champion and has played in the main draw of the U.S. Open in doubles. Mirzadeh will be joined by freshman Chris Reiman (Jacksonville, Fla.) who had a 4-4 record during the fall. The Seminoles will take on players from No. 15 Illinois and No. 40 South Florida.

"It's not too long until we'll play our first dual match," Hultquist said. "We know we have our most challenging schedule ever so we need to work hard and be ready to go."

Florida State will begin its dual match season on Saturday, January 17 at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center against Florida A&M, Florida Atlantic and Tennessee Tech.
