Former FSU centerfielder and 2005 Collegiate Baseball Player of the Year Shane Robinson was called up to the Major Leagues Wednesday night.
Robinson had been playing in the St. Louis Cardinals farm system and apparently had been playing hot enough to receive the promotion...
The Cardinals are in need of an outfielder after centerfielder Rick Ankiel collided head first into the outfield wall Tuesday night while making a tremendous catch.
Robinson becomes the third former Nole to be called up from the Minor Leagues in 2009. Earlier this year, Daniel Davidson was called up by the Los Angeles Angels, and Hunter Jones was called up by the Boston Red Sox.
