High school may be over but the boys of summer are still on the diamond. The Tallahassee Baseball club returns to the field to showcase some of the best baseball talent in the area.
Tallahassee Baseball Club Head Coach Robbie Zimmerman says,
"Tallahassee Baseball Club is comprised of the area all stars. Mainly kids who graduated this past season. There are some juniors that are going to be seniors on the team but for the most part we're seniors looking to go to the next level and be able to play college baseball."
The team is a traveling showcase which plays one day a week in Tallahassee, and then travels on the weekends to various tournaments throughout the south. For those who have already signed, this club is a great way to continue their baseball rhythm.
Tallahassee Baseball Club Catcher Ryan Welke adds,
'Being able to just stay in baseball throughout the summer and not take those couple months off will help me out a lot going into the fall. I don't want to go up to Auburn and start the fall cold, going up against college pitching. TBC allows me to stay in baseball shape, in the baseball mind set so I can maintain they timing and game speed in order to be successful."
Alumni include current professional players Bryan Henry and Michael Hyde, and current Florida State members Jimmy Marshal and Tommy Oravetz. So the club must be doing something right.
