FSU Former Athletic Director Dies

The man who hired Bobby Bowden as FSU's head coach has died.

John Bridgers died of natural causes yesterday in Albuquerque, New Mexico at age 84.

Bridgers worked as FSU's athletic director from 1973 to 1979.

According to Seminoles.com, he also acted as a Seminole Booster for years and was inducted into FSU's Hall of Fame in 1990.

His funeral service is set for Wednesday morning at the Cathedral Church of Saint John in Southwest Albuquerque.
