Most fans in the Big Bend remember a kid named Ernie Sims making bruising tackles at North Florida Christian High School... Here we are 6 seasons later and Sims has 371 professional tackles to validate his Celebrity Status.
His wreckless approach to the game has put him at the heart of the Lions defense, but his ties to the Big Bend put him in the local community each and every summer. Beginning Friday, the former FSU linebacker, and his supportive family will hold the 2nd annual Ernie Sims Celebrity Weekend.
"It's outstanding to have guys with their caliber and their celebrity status to come and be a part of an event like this. It really tells you that they're just not interested in being successful on the field, but they want to do something for a teammate, for a fellow professional, that will even them them to impact their community," said Former FSU athlete Ernie Sims, Jr.
