Athens, GA - The No. 7-ranked Georgia men¹s golf team will continue the fall portion of its schedule this weekend in the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational presented by Cleveland Golf/Srixon.

The tournament will be held Friday through Sunday on the North Course at Olympia Fields Country Club. The teams will play 18 holes each day on the par-70, 7,157-yard layout.

This is the fourth year of the tournament, but this will mark the Bulldogs¹
first appearance.

³We are excited about getting a look at a different venue,² Georgia coach Chris Haack said. ³We¹ve heard great things about this tournament, and I know it¹s gotten stronger every year. It should be a great test of golf for us and for the other teams. We are looking forward to it.²

Georgia will be joined at the tournament by No. 1 Stanford, No. 2 Oklahoma State, No. 5 Arizona State, No. 6 Illinois, No. 8 Augusta State, No. 10 Texas, No. 16 Southern Cal, No. 18 Florida, No. 25 Florida State, No. 28 Wake Forest and No. 30 San Diego State along with the Big Ten's Indiana, Northwestern and Purdue. In addition, 14 of the top 30 individuals in the country are competing in the tournament this weekend.

Haack will use a lineup of juniors Rob Bennett, Harris English and Russell Henley, redshirt freshman T.J. Mitchell and true freshman Brian Carter. English and Henley tied for sixth individually and the team came in 10th in the season-opening Carpet Capital Collegiate last weekend. The Bulldogs are still without senior Hudson Swafford (shoulder surgery) and sophomore Will Kropp (pinched nerve). Swafford will miss the entire fall, but the Bulldogs hope to have Kropp back for the Brickyard Collegiate Championship Oct. 10-12 in Macon.

Olympia Fields Country Club is one of the Midwest¹s preeminent golfing
venues. It hosted U.S. Opens in 1928 and 2003 and the 1925 and 1961 PGA Championships.
