Tallahassee, FL - Sixteen of the top NJCAA men’s basketball teams in the Southeast will be in action at Tallahassee Community College on Saturday, October 3 when the 2009 Southeastern Jamboree tips off at the Eagledome.
This year’s event will feature teams from Florida, Georgia and Alabama, all of whom will play in front of coaches representing a who’s who of four-year schools nationwide. Each of the 16 teams will play three games, which consists of two 23-minutes halves with a running clock.
Three games will be played at once, starting on the hour, beginning at 10 a.m. when TCC plays St. Johns River Community College. Other 10 a.m. games are Santa Fe College vs. Faulkner State (Ala.) Community College and Florida State College at Jacksonville vs. Albany (Ga.) Technical College.
The final trio of games begins at 5 p.m. and includes TCC’s matchup against Enterprise-Ozark (Ala.) Community College, who will be under the direction of first-year head coach Wesley Person, a former All-SEC performer at Auburn University and a 12-year NBA veteran.
TCC also plays Brevard Community College at noon.
Other teams scheduled to participate in the 2009 Southeastern Jamboree include: Central Florida Community College, College of Coastal Georgia, Daytona State College, Gulf Coast Community College, Marion (Ala.) Military Institute, Pasco-Hernando Community College, Pensacola Junior College and South Georgia Tech.
