Braves Finding Success This Spring

VIERA, Fla. (AP) _ Yunel Escobar and Ryan Langerhans hit
consecutive homers in the fifth inning today as the Atlanta Braves
defeated the Washington Nationals for the second straight day in
Grapefuit League play.
Corky Miller also hit a two-run shot for the Braves, who beat
the Nationals 10-to-6. Atlanta won 14-to-5 yesterday.
Both starting pitchers struggled. Colby Lewis allowed six runs
-- four earned -- in two innings for Washington (1-5). He gave up
four straight hits to start the game.
For Atlanta (5-1), Kyle Davies gave up five hits and two runs in
two innings of work. He struck out two and walked two.
Washington's Brian Schneider, who missed three games for the
birth of his daughter, went 2-for-2 with a home run, double and
four R-B-I's.
In the bottom of the first, Schneider hit a two-out double to
left field, tying the score at 2. Schneider gave the Nationals a
6-to-4 lead in the bottom of the third when he hit a 1-Oh pitch
from left-hander Macay McBride over the right-field wall.
