GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) Pete Clifford hit a home run in
Jacksonville's 6-to-5 win over Florida tonight.
Jacksonville took an early lead with two runs in the top of the
first inning. Florida tied it up with two of their own in the
bottom of the third, and then went ahead with three more runs in
the fifth. Jacksonville closed the gap with two runs in the sixth,
and then tied with a run in the seventh. Jacksonville finally took
the lead with a run in the ninth.
Jacksonville's Kevin Ferreira and Chuck Opachich each had two
hits, and Ryan McArdle had two R-B-Is.
Florida's Hampton Tignor had two hits, and Cole Figueroa had two
The winning pitcher was Jacksonville's Matt Gardner. Florida's
Josh Edmondson got the loss.
