The Blazers are 20-8 and were 8-4 in Gulf South Conference. The Tars are 24-6 and were 13-3 in the Sunshine State Conference this season.
Saturday’s game marks the 10th time that Valdosta State and Rollins have met on the hardwood, with VSU holding a 5-4 advantage all time. However, the Tars have won three of four contests since VSU joined the Division II ranks in 1974-75. The last contest came during the 1991-92 season, with the Blazers winning 67-66.

Valdosta State opens 2007 NCAA South Region play against Rollins on Saturday, March 10 at 3:30 p.m. EST. at Montevallo’s Student Activity Center.
Four Blazers are averaging double figure points, led by Mike Crain at 15.1 per game. Devario Hudson pours in 11.4 points and grabs 9.3 rebounds a game while Richard Lusane adds 10.0 points an outing. Herman Burge scores 13.1 points and dishes out 6.3 assists a game.
As a team, the Blazers are shooting 45.2 percent from the floor this season while holding opponents to 43.0 percent. VSU is averaging 83.1 points, 40.0 rebounds and 15.1 assists per game. The Blazers have tallied 226 steals and 140 blocks while the defense is forcing 16.6 turnovers a contest and holding opponents to 72.7 points a game.
Rollins is averaging 76.1 points a game while shooting 48.8 percent from the floor. The Tars tally 31.2 rebounds, 7.2 steals and 3.1 blocks a game while allowing opponents 66.6 points per outing.
