NEW ORLEANS (AP) _ The top-seeded Florida Gators started slowly
but geared up in the second half and routed Jackson State 112-to-69
in their opening-round N-C-A-A appearance in the Midwest Regional.
Corey Brewer led the defending national champions with 21
points. But it was another balanced effort from the team that
returned all five starters from last season.
Joakim Noah had 17 points and 12 rebounds. Al Horford added 15
points and 16 boards. Lee Humphrey sparked a huge run with four
three-pointers in the first five minutes of the second half.
Chris Richard came off the bench to finish with a career-high 17
Florida moves on to play Purdue on Sunday.
