FSU Women's Hoops Expecting More

By  |

When you look at Florida State Women's Basketball accomplished last season, winning the ACC regular season title for the first time in school history and advancing to their fifth consecutive NCAA tournament, expectation for this year are through the roof.
FSU Senior Forward Jacinta Monroe says,
"They're definitely higher than before. We just want to keep moving forward, keep taking bigger strides than before and not settling for second round in the tournament so we're working hard right now to get deeper in the tournament."
FSU Women's Head Basketball Coach Sue Semrau adds,
"It's an expectation for them now that they'll be in the tournament and now it's more about how far will we go in the tournament, how deep can we go. We haven't been satisfied with where we finished last year."
Look for Seniors Jacinta Monroe, Alysha Harvin, and Angel Gray to continue the tradition that Mara Freshour and Tanae Davis-Cain built from their years playing for FSU.
FSU Senior Guard Angel Gray adds,
"They left here and they went to the NCAA's every year, every single year they were here so they're big shoes to fill but we're very excited. These girls just want to learn and they want to get better and it's not just getting to the NCAA's anymore, it's winning and it's continuing to move forward and just pushing each other each and every day."
These girls are no longer the surprise team in the ACC. If they want to make it six straight, they'll do so with a bulls eye on their backs.
