Getting it Done on "D"

Thirty one forced turnovers including 22 steals in Florida State's two blowout wins in the first two rounds of the NIT, stats that will make any coach happy, especially defensive minded Leonard Hamilton.

Leonard Hamilton said, "We're creating more offense from our defense. We're getting deflections, we're getting stops, we're contesting shots better, we're creating some easy opportunities and it's always a lot more fun to play that way."

Better defense equals productive offense as evident by the Noles ridiculous 60 percent field goal percentage in the NIT.

Toney Douglas said, "That's when we're at our best especially when we lock up on defense our defense sometimes dictates our offense so once we play good defense that leads to transition and easy buckets."

So what do the Noles contribute their torrid play of late, team chemistry and the opportunity to send the seniors out on top?

Douglas said, "Especially Al, that's been one of our goals because they deserve it and we want them to go out with a bang so they can have memories of what they did when they where in college."

Before the NIT, the concern was how the Noles would respond to being left out of the NCAA Tournament for a second straight season, but now consider that concern obsolete.
