If you don't know who Willie Hayward is now, he'll make sure you do by the start of the season.
Roosevelt Kiser may have grabbed the headlines last season, but it was Hayward who produced on the field leading the team in yards and tied for the lead in touchdowns. But with Kiser gone, Hayward must make the adjustment to being the go to guy.
Willie Hayward said, "We had a big loss with Roosevelt Kiser leaving, he was one of our senior leaders but we have enough veterans on the receiving corp to keep that going and I think we're looking good."
Naturally, FAMU'S flamboyant wide receiver has no problem with that.
Hayward said, "It feels good me understanding the role that I have and let my team have the confidence in me to know that I can come out and perform and make more big plays."
Rubin Carter said, "I think the one thing about Willie Hayward is he has a passion for the game, he enjoys playing the game and looks to make big plays for us."
He's also not afraid to make a prediction or two.
Hayward said, "Our first goal is to win the MEAC and eventually go on to win a National Championship. We keep working I think we have enough talent and potential to do that."
And if that happens, there's no doubt you'll know the name Willie Hayward.
