LADY SPIKERS ROUT SOUTH CAROLINA STATE 3-0

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Nov. 5) - The Florida A&M University Volleyball remains unbeaten at home as the swept South Carolina State 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-9), here Thursday evening at the Al Lawson Center.

FAMU (12-8, 6-0 MEAC) was led by Jovana Blazeski, who recorded a game high 13 kills and 16 digs. Jessica Bond finished with a game high 31 assists, while Susan Eogavil finished with 14 digs and four aces.

In the first set, SCSU capped of a 7-2 run to tie the score at 20-20 on a Jarne Gleaton kill. FAMU would close out the first set on a SCSU’s error for a 25-22 win.

The Lady Bulldogs would knot the score at 16-16 in the second set, capping a 5-1 run on a Pamela Barrera service error, before dropping the set, 25-23 .

FAMU started the third set 7-0 as they reeled off seven straight points capped off by a Gleaton attack error. The Lady Rattlers would then extend their lead to 12-2 on a SCSU’s Jade Sanford attack error. FAMU finished the set with a 13-7 run for a 25-9 final.

SCSU (12-16, 3-3 MEAC) was paced by Elizabeth Webb and Melissa Robinson, who finished with five kills each. Lauren Harris finished with team high 13 digs, while Bria Brimmer finished with a team high 20 assists.

The Lady Rattlers conclude their home 2009 home season on Sunday, Nov. 15 against Norfolk State at the Al Lawson Center at 3 p.m.
