This is the time of year that teams in South Georgia prepare for all year long. With the regular season a thing of the past, it now comes down to win or go home.
Lowndes Head Football Coach randy McPherson says,
"Just a different atmosphere at practice. Kids are excited, working extra hard. It's that time of year."
Valdosta Head Football Coach Rick Tomerblin adds,
"I think our morale is the at the highest point it's been all year. Our enthusiasm is high, anticipation is excellent. We're the healthiest we've been all year. I feel good about where our team is. Our coaches are excited so it's good to be in the playoffs."
Home or away, fans will go through any lengths to support their teams.
Brooks County Head Football Coach Maurice Freeman adds,
"Well if there ever is a time you want to rob Quitman, it's on Friday during the football game because they're all going to leave. We don't want you to rob us now but, we're all going to leave and go to Putnam County and Brooks County certainly follows us extremely well."
Colquitt County Head Football Coach Rush Propst adds,
"We can make excuses about having to go to Atlanta and that kind of stuff but at the end of the day you have to be excited about where you are and what we're part of and we're part of a playoff team that we have to go play well every week is we want to have a chance to win."
It all boils down to this and it boils down to who can put together a five game winning streak and bring home the title.
