VALDOSTA, Ga. (AP) _ Long-hitting John Kimbell won the inaugural
South Georgia Classic for his first Nationwide Tour victory,
closing with a three-under 69 in high wind today for a one-stroke
victory over Australia's Matthew Jones.
The 38-year-old Kimbell had a ten-under 278 total at Kinderlou
Forest Golf Club, the longest course in Nationwide Tour history at
seven-thousand-781 yards. He earned 108-thousand dollars to jump
from 52nd to second on the money list with 126-thousand-139
Jones finished with a 71. Jeff Klauk (71) and Chez Reavie (72)
tied for third at five under, and Carlos Franco (73) was four
