What has been brewing in Tallahassee has been nothing short of remarkable. Former Rickards football player Travis Walker is a heavyweight champ.
You heard right, a Tallahassee man holds the title of IBA Americas Champion.
Walker is 23-0-1 with 17 knockouts. His most recent bout landed him the belt. He beat George Garcia in a split decision to earn that belt and it has caught the eye of one of the all-time greats. Despite boxing for just 6 years and professionally for just the past 2 ½, former champ Evander Holyfield wants a piece of Walker.
Travis Walker said, "It feels great man, especially to bring it back home to Tallahassee man, the first belt ever. I've made history man. Everybody's loving me in town, treating me real good. Friends and family are going crazy... and that's the biggest thing to me, my friends and family."
