From the Tallahassee Democrat:
PENSACOLA BEACH - Florida State coach Bobby Bowden shared his first-team lineup and enthusiasm for his new coaches on the first stop of his annual tour of Seminole clubs.
But he's not ready to name a starting quarterback between Drew Weatherford and Xavier Lee.
"I won't declare there." Bowden said, "It's still even, it's a good problem. Both quarterbacks have improved."
Bowden was upbeat about the program. “We're going to do a better job now because we're capable. We have the best (coaching) staff in the United States of America. It didn't come cheap.”
When asked about the situation with his son Jeff, who stepped down as offensive coordinator in November, Bowden admitted it was tough.
"Nothing's more important than my family. Nothing." Bowden said.
Bowden said another son, former Auburn coach Terry Bowden, is a great play caller. He said new offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher reminded him of that son.
"I think that's what we're going to like about him," Bowden said of Fisher. “Keeps (defenses) off-balance.”
